This is commonly noticed by the clicking noise that emanates from the rear wheel when climbing. The spokes ARE moving, that's why they "click". I demonstrated this to customers by manipulating the spokes across one another and asking "sound sort of like this?" They're usually astounded. When the spokes get like that, it's the PERFECT time to tie and solder them, you get a little extra structure and then they realy don't move!
