My Masi Prestige has a similar relatively small clear "Brev. Masi" decal on the LEFT stay. It wouldn't be much of a protector, even if it were on the right. I suspect that Tom's is as Jim suggests, underneath a clear protector. Did you try removing the old protector until you reached the decal part?
