Subject: [CR]Masi Prestige ride qualities

Often riding a early 1980's Masi Prestige with reynolds 753 tubing, the feel of the bike is rather stately, somewhat stiff, and as I have heard said about a Masi before, the true riding qualities of the bike aren't revealed until you hit some speed. Then, later on a two years newer and slightly smaller Prestige came into my possession. The feel of this bike was very very different. Not a fast bike in comparison to the aforementioned one, this bike would just fly over bumps with a joyful springyness not unlike that of a young pony, and a real kick to ride. Comparing the bikes I see a similar geometry, but I wonder what can explain the different way the bikes ride. Perhaps the smaller size is a factor, or possibly Alberto went to different tubing for the later bike? I wish I knew. Can anyone offer any thoughts on this riding qualities comparison. If it were possible to have the speed with the uneven road springyness, fantastico!
