The earlier Cinellis that I've seen simply have the "Mod. S.C." decal on the seattube, but at least some of the later ones, from the 1970's, have "Speciale Corsa" spelled out in full. For examples see: http://www.rydjor.com/bikecollection/1975cin.htm, http://www.cord.edu/faculty/sprunger/bikes/cinelli/, and http://www.dreambike.com/cinelli.htm, with more pictures at http://www.dreambike.com/images/cinelli/ (the latter is Mike Short's bike, isn't it?).

As a reasonably new owner of another early 70s SC, one thing that has struck me from seeing pictures of others is that they seem to have been commonly fitted with Campy Tipo HF hubs, not Records. Often with 4x spoking. (Mine came with Tipos, for example, as does the Dreambike example). Probably not the worst place to save $$.., but somehow I always have felt that the cones and cups of the Tipos weren't up to the spec of the record versions.

Eh?

PS: Am I the only nit-picker who wonders if the dreambike/Short example might not be later? short dropouts/without fender eyes, braze-on shifter mounts, water bottle cage mounts, etc...
