Right, purple ones from the early '70s, only came in one (small) size, but had these amazing Japanese Derailers and cotterless cranks at a price point that was unheard of. As I recall these sold for $70-80 or thereabouts.

Absolutely not, these were Japanese knockoffs, on all-Japanese bikes. A Brooks Pro probably retailed for about 1/3 of the cost of the complete bike!

Although they did _look_ a lot like Brooks, the leather was much harder, and they took forever to break in.
