Dear Dale and CR list members, I had a 1973 Orange C. Itoh ( made in Japan) ten speed bicycle, Suntour barend ratchet shifters with a black SPEEDIC leather saddle. It did say SPEEDIC on it if I recall correctly, with and imbossed print on the sides of the leather saddle. The bicycle retailed for all of about $140.00 at E.J. Korvettes (Eight Jewish Korean Veterans, a department store chain from N.J.) now defunct. I would agree with Joe and Sheldon that the Speedic is a Japanese made saddle modeled on the Brooks Pro of the early 1970's. Yours truly, Martin Walsh in Vienna,Va.
