In addition to the Annual Baltimore Retro Ride on November 1 (thanks Shawn Dowling, and described below), Tom Roberson has arranged a special event for Sunday, November 2, 10:00:
Fixed-gear and vintage ride, sociable pace, approx. 25 mi, basically out-and-back in Rock Creek Park, DC/MD. Start at Viers Mill Recreation Center, 10:00 AM Sunday. From Beltway Exit 33, Connecticut Ave/Rt MD-185, go North about 1.5 miles, then left onto Knowles Aver. After 0.6 miles, Right onto Beach Drive. Follow to T, Right then immediate left into parking lot. Better yet, please park up the hill to the East if the lot is looking fullish. For those trying Mapquest, street address is 4425 Garrett Park Rd, Silver Spring, MD. We're likely to do lunch afterwards, with a special guest in town from Boston for his brother's art show gallery the evening before.

The Annual Baltimore Retro Ride Saturday November 1st, 10 am beginning at Oregon Ridge Park, off I-83.
Bring out your oldest bike, wear your oldest wool jersey, ride with a hairnet helmet, talk about the bad old days, appreciate how much technology has improved the bicycle! All are welcome even if you have a "modern bike."
Cost is free, ride length will be the usual Wednesday night loop that leaves from Oregon Ridge - around 35 miles. Pace is relaxed and social. Donuts served at 9:30 am, ride leaves at 10 am.
Directions - from Baltimore I-83 north to Shawan Rd west. At first traffic light turn left (Beaver Dam Rd), go about half a mile to the Oregon Ridge Center parking lot on the right.
