Hi Sarah, My copy of the 1971 Gitane catalog lists the seatpost for the Gitane "Tour de France" as: IDEALE 26.4mm. There is no mention of saddle types in the catalog. The saddle appears to be leather in the photo. I have a "stock" to my knowledge 1970 Gitane "Super Corsa" the model above the "Tour de France," all Campy equipped and it has a Brooks Professional saddle, which I think is the original saddle. Mr. Mel Pinto in Falls Church,Va. was the importer for Gitane in the early 1970's. His phone is listed under Mel Pinto Imports, Inc. (wholesale only) is: 703 237-4686. Yours truly, Martin Walsh in Vienna,Va.
