Somewhere in my stuff I have a sheet with step-by-step instructions on how to wrap bars with Benotto tape (need two colors -- three rolls total) to get a really nice looking diamond pattern. Used to do all my bikes that way back in the 80's.

But someone in Italy was making cloth tape. I used to get it occasionally at the late, lamented Stuyvesant Bicycle Shop in NYC during my high school years. (Or was it at the late, lamented Kissena Bicycles?) Anyway, my recollection is that those rolls were unboxed. Later on, Performance sold Italian made cloth tape which _seemed_ to be the same stuff. But this was all a long time ago, so I won't be surprised if other folks remember differently. Best regards, Fred Rednor - who once resided on a small island off the coast of North America (i.e. Manhattan) but now resides in Arlington, Virginia
