For anyone who remembers the Hi-E hubs at the Cirque on my Jim Redcay, they had 60 K miles on them. Yes, Harlan rebuilt them and applied the Alemite finish about 15K miles ago. They were gettting a bit scratchy at that point.

Pino skewars go together mighty well with those puppys. Harlan's ideas for skewars, dropout detents etc. never sold me.

On I go with best components. I'll start with Suntour Superbe- the first generation Gruppo, but with the sealed bearing pedals. Replace the rear seatpost bolt with a steel one. Use a Hatta Swan or Chris King headset. Use an OMAS titanium BB. HI-E "heavy duty" hubs, Pino Skewars. Nitto Pearl "G" stem (that's fluted down the sides), Nitto B65 LL bars. Fiamme yellow label rims. Continental sewups, Simplex seatpost binder bolt. CLB brake cables. Binda Extra toe straps, Renold chain, Zeus 2000 freewheel.

Saddles and toe clips are pretty individualistic. A Unicanitor or Turbo and steel Christophe works for me.
