Interesting point about the lack of thread lubrication with all things French. With the Mavic rear derailleur

the pulley cage can be raised or lowered to be as close to the large cog as possible for improved shifting performance. Kewl feature (along with how everything is held together with micro circlips).

The only problem is that the factory really torque'd on the lower pivot bolt (with no anti-seize compound on the threads) with the result being that when you go to undo the pivot bolt to adjust the pulley cage height the result can be snapping of the "hat" shaped threaded piece on the inside of the pulley cage. And good luck finding a replacement part now!
