Subject: [CR]CR & Phred List-Used Alex Moultons For Sale

Hello fellow Moultoneers,CR'ers Phred's,

A friend pointed out I should notify this list. We have just acquired 3 used Moultons by way trade or hook and crook (is there another way?). They are being offered to the USA market. These bikes rarely come up for air used in the colonies and the are all in extremely fine shape. We will be by the phones 10 AM-10 PM EST Sunday, January 4 through Friday, January 9 for inquires this week only.

I can forward prices (and photos) and specific details to interested parties in the USA. I don't expect any of these to last the week but we never know. If they linger they are off to E-bay for the big bucks. All have a very new look to them with excellent paintwork.

In the CR Time line I have one bike of interest with Pricing as per CR requirement listed below. Call or Email for details of the others.

For your interest:

1 x Cola Brown Metallic factory refurbished 1982-85 Moulton AM7, now AM14-21 (+). This is a clone of the bike used in the world land speed record. The upright bicycle speed record still stands and is noted on the Moulton website at www.alexmoulton.co.uk . Some of the parts have been updated of course but if you have a need for older retro parts they can be substituted. The bike has a modular separable frame and can be disassembled without tools in a few seconds with practice and placed in a car boot where it is always ready to answer the call of an emergency cycle ride. This bike is very fast and has big wheel bike performance. Though the wheels are very light weight their compactness makes them extremely strong. It is ideal for loaded touring properly equipped. We have special bags for them as well. This was a personal bike that has a new 135 mm rear triangle, New Paint (not used since painted or built yet) front changer braze on, SRAM Dual Drive hub fittings. Phil wood BB and 28 hole Campy NR hubs, XTR Headset, Dura Ace front changer, Barend controls(New), Drop Bars, XT Short Cage rear changer. SRAM 3 x 7 rear hub (new internals) and STI Shimano shifters available as an option for low cost or you can buy both rear wheels. Also available to purchaser fac tory repainted racks (not used since painted) for this bike in Black. Special price on Day, Rear Trunk and Front Platform rack for new owner at 1/2 the 2004 cost to CR members. This is a gem and though a bargain won't come super cheap as the factory refurbishment and freight costed in at about $1300.00 US. New very similar Moulton AM18's with lower caliber parts used to sell for between $4300 and $5300 US. The prices are higher now due to the week dollar. These bikes have been very popular too at those prices so this bike is a steal at $2500.00. Other special freight and tool kit incentives if purchased Sunday or Monday. Email or call us for more details.

Also as per distribution agreement for USA customers only. Due to the US dollar falling so sharply of late the import cost of most foreign goods are experiencing sharp price increases. This includes Moulton bicycles and the parts to equip them. Most are far less expensive than the fine example above and make excellent Long distance loaded touring machines. We have been running a year end promotion to forestall this somewhat that is expiring soon. With special incentives (some expire even today) on bicycles, custom bicycles, priority delivery, reduced freight, discounted bags and carriers, parts. If you are a USA resident and seek to aquire anything in the near future please contact us right away for details. Costs are already much higher to us and rising still. We won't see this type of discounted pricing on Moulton products for sometime to come in the USA. Email us for details right away. We will be by the phones 10 AM-10 PM EST Sunday, January 4 through Friday, January 9 for inquires this week only.

Usual Disclaimer: Very connected to seller, fine chap he is I might add.

Yours in Moultoneering,

Gilbert Anderson
