Hello all,

My first official "For Sale" post to the lists. Forgive the crossover, but I think this is a crossover interest kinda bike:

1974 Raleigh Professional - Mink blue, Fastback style seat stay attachment Seat tube is 60cm (c-c) or 61 (c-t), and top tube is 58 (c-c). CC cutout of b.b. shell. Paint is in near perfect condition, except for a slightly noticeable blemish on the back/drive side of the seat tube, and some of the gold head lug lining has faded. Decals are mostly near perfect, except for the d/tube non-drive side RALEIGH, that for some reason has about 40% rub loss. All other decals are nearly perfect, including a strange "Made in England" written in gold on the top side of the top tube, hidden under the brake cable casing. Chrome is excellent, except for the chain stays (mostly non-drive side), which I believe have been "marked" by a nice tom cat, sometime in storage. Here there is a slight loss of shine, that perhaps can be polished. I cleaned it, but did not attempt to polish it in any way, as I'm not really "in the know" when it comes to chrome restoration. There may be other tiny blemishes, but they would all be found only with a fine tooth comb, (as it were). Components are all in excellent to near perfect condition, the exception being a small amount of strap rub on the drive crank, and a tiny amount of drag evidence on the underside of one pedal.

Campy components are: NR Cranks - 1973, 170mm, 52/43t, Patent everything " Rear der - 1973 " Front der - no lip, clamped " Shifters - "bumpy", clamped, chrome cable guides " Headset - Eng., <C> on lower cup " Bottom bracket - Eng., thick/rifled cups " Seat post - 27.2mm " Hubs - 1973 (I think, IIRC), flat q/r, large flange, 36h " Brake calipers - flat q/r, nutted " Brake levers - FIRST GEN. with circle cutouts " Old logo hoods - still look great with little damage, but roll em up CAREFULLY! " Brake cable casings - gray SL Pedals - black, 1037A, <C> on body Chromed Top tube cable guides x3 " "Bottom bracket" cable guide clamp " Umbrella pump clip " Seatpost binder bolt - Patent, cannot fully see-thru the inside of the bolts

Other great components are: GB handlebars - Map logo, 36cm at levers, and 38.5cm at ends, 25.4mm? TTT Record Stem - 70mm, red/white/green band decal Brooks Professional Saddle - understamp B-73, chrome rails, small rivets, LIKE A ROCK! AVA Rims - blue label, tubular, 36h Clement Seta Tires - COLLE MAIN GUERCIOTTI SERVIZIO COURSE, holding air well enough, but time is taking a bit of a toll on the gumwalls. Regina SC Chain - gold plates (not so pristine anymore, of course, but still very nice) 6 Speed Freewheel - probably Regina (forgot to look at the brand), 13-26 Milremo Bar Plugs - white, expander screw type Christophe Toe Clips - old logo, chromed Specialized Toe Straps - black Zefal Pump - Silv/alum with white lower hand hold

It is with a heavy heart, and lightened wallet, that I am parting with this near perfect beauty. It's huge for me, and I have kept it as eye candy only, for way too long. Time to cash out, in order to free up the funds for other things. The bike is in really outstanding, but not perfect condition.

I cleaned everything, without breaking it down, so it's all super shiny. Judging by the bike's lightly ridden condition, the grease inside is possibly 30 years old still, and MUST be relubed before using. The only thing I didn't work on really is the rims and spokes ... I just ran out of steam that day, took PICs, and never got back to it. Yes, PICs ... I have about 90 of them! (Feel free to ask for the PICs regardless of interest in purchasing the bike. PICs are always for everyone to see!)

Price: $1100.00, plus shipping (chose your favorite carrier, and method ... you pay their exact charge!). I will pack the bike with great love, care and intent, ensuring a safe delivery to you. I decided to post this in the middle of the night, to perhaps give those on the digest plan a fair shake. Although, that doesn't hold true for continents east, since it is daytime.
