Re: the gold coloration on this particular bike, we were assured by the bike's importer that this exact bike had the actual gold plating, not brass or translucent paint.. This made the price through the roof, original importer's wholesale cost at well over $5K, a rare occurrence in the 1980s. (Now we routinely sell bikes at that retail price range!)
