No Schwinns mentioned here. The final Clarabell epsode was in September, three months after I got my Varsity.

September 24, 1960 - Clarabell Speaks This one-hour episode is also the finale of the series. In this color episode, everyone is getting ready to leave Doodyville, when Clarabell announces that he has a secret. Amazingly, his secret is that he can talk. Cast & Crew:

The Howdy Doody Show: Clarabell Speaks and Other Episodes stars Robert E. Smith, Bob Keeshan, Nick Nicholson, Lew Anderson, Dayton Allen, Alan Swift, Bill LeCornec, and Judy Tyler. These episodes were produced by E. Roger Muir, directed by Robert Hultgren, and written by Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. This DVD's production consultant was Burt Dubrow.Hmm, I did mention Schwinn. I know therre's often poopoo when we bring up Varsities, let alone some Pop culture, but Guys like Harvey Sachs and I are convinced that without the Varsity and Continental and Raleigh Record and Gran Prix existance, many of us who got into lighterweithts wopuld not have done so without the gateway machines. -------------------------------------- Jeff, the drummer in my duet, was among the elite when he one-upped my Varsity purchase and got a Gitane from Center Hardware.
