My 37 Hercules catalog has a picture of three flat bars. Middleton 18 in., the North Road 18 in., and the Lauterwasser 15 in. They are flat, but not short on curves. Been perusing a late 30's Bates catalogue, trying to get an idea on the model of my frame and how it might have been equipped. I was impressed with the variety of equipment options back then. 3 or 4 types of handlebars were available including "flat" bars. What do they mean "flat" bars? Certainly not today's MTB. Are we talking basically North Road/moustache or were there others?
