Certainly there were holidays, but as I worked the week after Christmas, I'm not totally sympathetic to his failure to ship until the 29th. This would have been fine if it had not been combined with long shipping times and a PayPal complaint deadline. This guy is a professional eBay seller and should have known about both. In fact, he emailed other buyers to expect 8 weeks delivery but only after they complained about delays. His attitude is that he will deliver when and if it happens to be convenient for him. Sorry, but I am not a member of the MTV generation and do not accept their "to hell with everyone but me" attitude. Don't know how old Klaus is, but he certainly seems "modern" in his attitude. Guess it creates a problem with old farts like me who believe in in the antiquted notion of personal responsibility and integrity. The big problem I have here is attitude and the willingness to accept responsibility. I've been spoiled, perhaps, but the 99% of classic bike people who feel honor bound to make sure anything they sell is totally satisfactory and delivered fast. Klaus doesn't measure up to that. Neutral is generous.

But someone complained we should stop talking about eBay and get back to bikes. Having properly acknowledged that Klaus did in fact ship goods and therefore is not a crook or a deadbeat, maybe we should do just that.

Jerry Moos

To prepare shipments usually takes a day if all the packing materials are already on hand, bringing us to close of business on the 23rd of December. This leaves the 24th to bring things to the post office. The German Post office was then closed on Thursday the 25th of December and Friday the 26th (both legal holidays) maybe on Saturday the 27th (I'm not sure whether they would have been open) and then closed again on Sunday the 28th. So effectively he mailed on the 2nd or 3rd possible day... doesn't seem to be too slow to me, especially during the holiday periods with most people having many previous engagements.
