For longevity of bicycle components I submit the following for consideration:

28 x 1 1/2 westwood rim (ISO 635mm, french 700B, English F10 etc.)

as fitted to millions of roadsters.

The oldest bicycle that I own that has this size is a 1903 Royal Enfield ladies girder frame (pictures if you want 'em). I'm unsure when they were first used, certainly some years before this. However they are still in production in large quantities in India at least, so that's at least 101 years and unchanged.

I'm currently looking for a pair of 28 X 1 3/8 rims (ISO 642, 700A) any leads anyone?

regards
