I could have got some assistance at work from our new mechanic who is also an old bike nut, but darn it - I like to do it myself!

I think part of the problem is these Continentals are tight, much like their clincher models. I've also noticed that Avocet Fasgrips tend to be tight too. I had to mount and demount the Fasgrips on the Montelatici a few times before I even put tubes in them.

I'm hoping a week or so of sitting around inflated should make those tires a bit easier to mount when it comes to the time with the glue.

I also got some Vittoria Mastik - I was told it was good stuff. I probably should have got Vittoria tires too.

No, the boyfriend has been no help but to make cracks about evolution and Neanderthals and why high pressure clinchers exist. Apparently in his racing days he got glue everywhere too.

Anyway, I do agree, a video of someone like Brian, who with the exacting specifications of Masi as his background, might be useful - but of course with his narration. Perhaps I'll just not glue my tires but bring them and the Mastik to Cirque and ya'all can film Brian making my Medici complete. It'll fit him too and he can ride off on the sunset in it on it's maiden voyage.

Meanwhile I'll look at the link posted.
