I think this thread has pretty much run its course, but not before I add my 2 cents worth. I bought a crashed Gitane TDF just for the foil stickers. I have a Gitane Super Course that used essentially the same foil, but were all but gone. Since the TDF was seriously damaged ( Fork, top, and down tube wrinkled) I used a torch to heat the tubes, and tweezers to carefully peel off the stickers which were in perfect condition. I used a spray adhesive to reaffix them to my Super Course and they look like they came with the bike. Can't do that with waterslides!
