if it wasn't for the dump, i don't think i'ld be here.
i found my motobecane grand jubile there. thought it looked cool with the all those lugs, it was about my size, took it home for $5. sure it was missing parts but it looked cool. doing research on what i found, didn't know anything about this bike, led me to CR. and since then, things haven't been the same.
I also found my, too big for me, Ruegger Spezial. It was very clean, cheap, lugged and brought it home anyways, even though i still don't know anything about this brand (if you do, let me know). except that what i have was outfitted in 1981 and seems to be of some quality given the components it came with. and this i've learned through CR.
I've seen some parts bikes that I should have picked up in hindsight, because of what i've learned reading the CR-list. So I make my regular visits. I was just there yesterday but found nothing. But it's the 'potential' that lures me back every few weeks.
