Hello Ben ,

Here's a basic fact which may not seem obvious . Yes , the name Campagnolo appears all over the bicycle , however , the name Campagnolo is only on the component parts , and not on the frame .

But , you may say , the name Campagnolo is on the "dropouts" ( where the axles of the wheels attach to the frame ) !! But , once again , Campagnolo only made those little solid steel parts . The frame-maker bought them , and used them in making the frame .

The chainrings ? Those were made by Campagnolo ( or by an outside supplier to Campagnolo's specifications ) . Then , later , the name "Royal-King" was cut into them .

And hey ! You have a very attractive , genuine road racing bicycle there !! Congratulations !!!!!!

Now , what I want to know is , about that little green pressed-steel LICENSE PLATE !!

Is that the standard location for a rear license plate , where you are located ?

( there are collectors of bicycle license plated , you might be able to sell it on U.S. eBay for a small but still tidy sum ! )

And just what region are you writing from ? We are all supposed to list the city and nation , from which we are writing .

:^)

\r?\n> i.e. it has words etched or cut into its surface. If so they may be the

\r?\n> best indicator of the bike's provenance, because framebuilders commonly

\r?\n> pantographed their names onto chainrings.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Based on the pictures and a guess or three, it's a Royal-King and the last

\r?\n> time it was ridden is 1986. Hopefully the *real* experts will weigh in

\r?\n> soon and give you even more details.

\r?\n> Just wait until they start in on arguing over some historical tidbit or

\r?\n> another ;-)
