Doug Van Cleve;

If you are willing to wait a week or two, I will be able to give you a first hand evaluation. This winter, the rear dropout in my 1989 Viner frame cracked (subjetc of an e-mail mid life crisis for a classic bike). I bought the frame at Cycles BiKyle when I was a Ph.D. student at Penn. I was in Philly over President's day weekend (that was us East coasters do during the long no-ride winter) and showed them the frame. They sent the frame to a guy in Ohio who will replace the drop-out and repaint the frame (and the shop supplied the decals). I am axiously waiting the result. It should be here soon.

When bought the frame, I had an old frame that had split at the head tube. The had the frame repaired and repainted. At that time, they did a very nice job. So, I am hoping for more of the same.

On a more personal note, how is the riding in Tucson? I love the desert and would eventually love to move to Tucson. Do you ride June-August? Are there nice rides in the Tucson area. It seemed like a very "spread out" city (I was there last August sans bike). On the other hand it is spring here (I use the term loosely). It snowed last week and the melting snows mess up the road for weeks. And today the high will be in the low 30's. So anyplace has to be better than here!

Let me know if you want a report when my frame arrives.
