Don,

One of my favorite tunes as well, but can't get the band to cover it. We are doing "Twilight Zone" instead. Is that OK?

Brian Baylis Wish I had more time to chat with you guys, but I've very busy right now.

P.S. Paul, we're getting some of the old band back together. We have a spot for a guitar player.

One of my top three all-time favorite songs!

I'd like to thank Richard and Dale for their kind words. Like Dale, I have forgotten more than I've ever known and Dale's right about me not being a genius and I can offer proof: I never went to college; I elected to join the Army instead and I've been limiting my income potential ever since. Ta-da! Game over, man!!!

I would like to say a word about that Columbus MAX bike in those pics Dale posted just because it comes up often: that frame was powdercoated by Spectrum Powderworks and not wet-painted. Powdercoating is usually too thick for lugged bikes (its thickness washes out the edges - you can see this somewhat on the example shown), especially if the paint job has many color and clear coats like this one, but Spectrum has been refining their technique and materials so that they can approach wet-paint for detail work. Since that pic was taken, they have some new materials that result in about half the thickness seen in those photos. Powder will never, ever give a finish equal to the level of JB's or Brian's wet paint work, but it has made great strides in the last few years and I think that bike helps illustrate that it's not just an industrial finish any more.

I swear that's not a plug for Spectrum but it's just a subject that I find interesting.

Hmmm. More F.T. Bologna... Don is very very smart but I understand that he has an IQ of ___ (deleted due to Privacy Act of 2001) which is actually 1 1/2 points LESS than "genius". (I admit the testing facilities may be in question..) In addition, I have forgotten a hell of a lot more than he has. On many occassions, while talking with him, I find he knows stuff that I have apparently forgotten. In fact, I have forgotten to ask him stuff that he knows, so who knows how little he has forgotten! That proves something!

In any case, here are a few links to get Don out of the Radar Range (pictures of a kewl bike he made and of his person.)
