Well, I've been accused of that in past threads because I ride classic ALAN aluminum frames. Yes, aluminum is subject to fatigue, so maybe I'll meet my end when an ALAN frame or the Vitus I recently bought suddenly and catastrophically fals. But then maybe none of us should use those Campy NR components unless they are NOS. The failure of an SIS housing may be a bit more likely than that, but a rupture of the housing won't necessarily mean complete loss of brake function, and even if it does, most bikes have TWO brakes. The likelihood that both front and rear brake cable housings will simultaneously fail is probably roughly equal to being struck by lightning twice on consecutive days. There are several million things which rank higher on my list of things to worry about. So if I can find non-SIS celeste cable I'll buy it, but if not I won't lose any sleep. Besides, there are much worse ways to go than from the rupture of a brake cable or the collapse of an ALAN or Vitus frame. Like for example the hundreds of thousands of people who die every year from coronary disease caused by overweight and lack of exercise.
