Yes, I've used the sintered Modolo brake pads on four of my bikes since the late 1980s and think they work great. The brake pad material is sintered (def.: to cause to become a coherent mass by heating without melting) with cacophony (I believe rosin is used to increase sliding friction) to improve braking in the rain. These shoes were used by many pros back in the day.

Downside: pads are prone to screech if not toed in and with heavy used of brakes, white powder (rosin?) will accumulate around frame where the calipers are mounted.
