Howdy,

Picked up a Raleigh "Competition" the other day, and would appreciate any information about it, like year, where to get a set of decals for restoration, and a list of the original components with which it came.

The serial number is A3306. The top tube reads "Competition", the downtube reads "Raleigh", and the seat tube reads "Carlton". Has rear dropout adjusters, a TA crankset, a very worn Huret front derailleur, and a nothing rear derailleur. The hubs are Normandy Competition, the stem is GB, the rear brake caliper is Weinmann 750 and the front is 610. Levers are Weinmann, and the brake lever hoods read "Carlton". Has TDC five-speed freewheel, and Araya 27" x 1 1/4 alloy rims. The fork looks like it has a Reynolds 531 triangular sticker on it, but can't make out the green numbers for sure. The chrome is bad.

Finally, where can I get a set of decals for this so that I can repaint it -- the paint is not too good, and would like to make it fresh, albeit wet-looking as the urethanes are. Be nice to find some lacquer to re-do it, but here in California it's likely a felony to have it on your shelf!

The best news is it's just my size! Plan to do a resto on it to replace my Italvega Nuovo Sport.

Any help on the above would be appreciated.
