During the last gasps of 10 years of insisting on riding the '85 Pinarello Montello the crisis came when I had to compete with the record 10 guys with 39-25 on climbs.

How to achieve the same ratio with Regina and Super Record without doing surgery to the frame? Renaissance Cycles did sell Regina Corsa FW in 12-19 or 14-26 or 34. I ended up buying three a 12-19, a 13-23 and a 14-34 to get enough cogs and the right body to build a 12-25 this gave the low and high gears in the neighborhood of a record 10 53-39 and a 12-25. I kept the 126 mm 6 sp spacing, used a 52 (campy) and 41 non campy chain wheel and the 12-25 fw.

Still 12 sp and no ergo but the bike looks original the fw is not oro but a silver corsa model. I think the classics can be hot-rodder in period correct ways, what about DT revolutions, alum. nipples on 36 mavic MA2's? Or the San Marco Concor TI?
