A saddle listing for $612 NOS ! Wow, maybe I should give up bicycle collecting and just take up saddle collecting ?!?!? Certainly I'd be afraid to rest my bum on a $612 piece of leather equipment like this ... - Don Gillies San Diego, CA

P.S. Two ideale 88 saddles, NOS (1996 models), arrived in the mail yesterday from germany. They are nowhere near as smooth and clean as a Brooks PRO saddle, and are considerably heavier. Is Ideale still making any saddles ?? Who owns the trademark? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- Don- I don't know who has the trademark or if they are still in business, but I find something kind of odd about this auction. As far as I know, this is not an Ideale "Professional" as the auction states nor was it ideale's top of the line. In fact, the warranty tag that the seller is claiming to belong to this saddle is for a model 59, the "true" professional Ideale saddle as far as I know. I sure hope the winning bidder can stomach this when he shells out his $600+. Ahhh ebay, doncha just love it!
