Andre Mahe on his way to a controversial "joint 1st place" in the 1949 Paris-Roubaix.

Note: two jerseys, cloth tape around brake lever hoods (no rubber hood covers) extra tape wrapped on drops, tiny strip of tape near the end of the brake levers, tape around the frame above the "Royal-Stella" decals probably holding the derailleur cable, full length housing for rear derailleur, rear brake cable held on with even more tape, long pointed saddle, race number tied to frame at an angle to accommodate frame pump, yet more cloth tape around the clamp that secures the bottle cage stabilizer to the stem extension (NOT the quill), thorn catcher ahead of rear brake caliper, pre-war looking shape of the fork rake, lovely long tapering chain stays, northern-style band-collared jersey with no zipper (pull-over), and legs that look like heavy earth-moving equipment.
