Pete: I'm trying to put together a tool kit to go along with my early 70s = Schwinn Paramounts. I have most of the tools but not all. I have a = photo (from eBay) of what tools go in the tool bag, as supplied by = Schwinn, but I'm not sure what all of them are. Working from the photo = I have, here's my guess at the inventory of the Schwinn Paramount tool = kit:

Harvey: the bright tools are steel. If you send a picture I'll try to help with all the ids. Somebody on the list was selling NOS plastic zip bags to hold the tool kit and "operator's manual." #### marks another note or two in your list. Harvey

1. Campy crank nut wrench, sometimes referred to as the "peanut butter" = wrench (bright aluminum) ##### it's a 15 mm. wrench. 2. Campy crank puller (dark steel). ##### If you get desperate, could sell one; have two. 3. Campy T-wrench (allen and socket combo) (aluminum) ##### 8 mm. box, 6 mm. hex/allen. Machismo or funk points for used ones with the arms twisted. 4. Campy chainwheel nut wrench (dark steel) #### Not near as easy to use as Suntour version. 5. Campy allen wrench with large knurled nut on longer part (aluminum) #### 5 mm, not a nut, but just a gripping surface for spinning on the bolt. 6. Campy seatpost wrench (bent bright steel) ##### A kludge (10 mm) to make it possible to work on an awful design. :-) 7. Allen wrench (bright steel), unknown brand and size. On the other end, the peculiar open-end wrench fits the nose-tension adjusting nut on Brooks and (I think) Ideale saddles. It is used to keep tightening the saddle until the rivets pull out. :-( ##### If old enough, could this have been a 7 mm. for older Italian stem quill bolts? 8. Unknown tool (bright) about half the length of the the Campy crank = nut wrench; one end larger than the other (in 2 steps) 9. Schwinn Paramount owners manual.

Would someone who has one, inventory the contents and verify/complete = the list above? And does anyone know if the tool kit would be different = for a road bike versus a track bike?

I checked the CR archives and found no references to Schwinn tool(s).
