Think this photo of Tom Simpson was probably taken on the 1966 Paris-Tours where he wore the number 40. This event was five weeks after his World championship triumph. We really need someone with a start sheet with the riders numbers to identify number 59 the Mercier BP rider. If you look carefully the riders are sans derailleur which was a feature of this final French classic then. Would be nice to have the start numbers to be certain who the other rider is.
