Or, what's probably more likely is that it's a very similar bike to the one that sold (there are lots of silver 1970s Cinellis out there), and the current seller saw that $1355 gavel price, said "holy s***" to himself, then "I gotta get that for mine," and listed it, copying the previous seller's details almost verbatim.

I've seem my listings' text used verbatim by another seller on eBay more than once - kind of eerie the first time it happens, but you get used to it. I've also had sellers ask me for details about their bikes, then use that in their auction text (of course, they didn't state up-front what they were going to do with the response). I've seen other CR members quoted directly in auction text too....

People take images and text from successful auctions and copy them.....

This is interesting I suppose, but the description, and the pictures, are identical to the last listing - where this bike sold for $1355.00 - here's the link:

http://ebay.com/<blah>

Assuming there is no fruadulent intent - same components are evident in both sales via pictures ... Perhaps it was the wrong size, wasn't a straight frame, or ...??

Current seller was not the winning buyer from the last auction ... Just another ebay mystery I guess!
