It took my a while to figure out what Ernest Csuka meant when he spoke about a Monsieur "Sawn-Chay". When I apologized, because I used the german pronounciation ("Singer" pretty close to the same english word) in the same conversation, he said that this is also ok because the name is of german origin. Alex Singer's family came from Alsace which is France (since 1919) but the language spoken there is german.

Seriously though if it's a family name that the company is named for seems there is only one right way to say it.
