Hey CR folks,
No idea about specifics on the Gillot on ebay, but if it is as it appears any CR member with any sense should hop to it and buy it. Gillot frames have a wonderful reputation, and I think are wonderfully elegant and beautifully made. Anyone who has a soft spot for British bikes should jump on it. I would, but I'm relatively cash poor and I have one sitting right in front of me now anyway.
There are folks who would put a Gillot on a higher level than any Hetchins (I like Hetchins a lot too). Some British stuff has been trading for silly low prices from what I've seen (and been able to buy lately). Yea, the 531 decals on this ebay frame are a tad silly, but this frame is a top tier vintage lightweight.
If you are a CR member and you don't know about Gillot, but you have a bit of cash in reserve, buy it and learn why it was a cool purchase later.
And if the frame has some history or a problem that my quick scan of the ebay listing didn't reveal, forget that you ever heard my name. I'm just trying to pump people up about something that is really cool.
