I believe I apologized to you through email when I first wrote that message, but now I've stirred things up again by referencing that review email. Let me make a public apology.
I mentioned a $75 price as the price from another (nameless) web site that has the name "velo" in it, and right before I wrote the email, I thought, "do i really want to get 1000 emails about where to purchase $75 hoods ??" It was not my intention to malign someone - just to avoid getting lots of emails asking for an URL.
As was pointed out by others, your site has never overcharged for hoods, i am sorry for my mistake.
Dale today told me that the $75 price is probably a rational markup on a distributor that indeed still has NOS shield-logo hoods in stock. The $75 price is just a reflection of the very high price from that distributor. I did not know that distributors still had shield-logo hoods, this is a bit of good news.
