My 1981 ALAN Super Record still has the gruppo I originally had it built with (by Jack Moran ay City Cycle in Little Rock, AR). A complete Zeus 2000 gruppo, drilled, slotted, lots ot titanium bits. The only exception was that the Zeus 2001 SP's in the gruppo were just a bit too long reach for the ALAN frame, so I used Campy SR short reach brakes. I thought this was by far the coolest way to build it in 1981, and I've had no reason to change my mind since.

I would appreciate suggestions on the coolest period parts to equip it- no Shimano AX stuff though.... All suggestions will be greatly appreciated and will definately contribute to the eventual build up.
