Chris,

I venture that one reason why people can be so critical of your expenditure is because it brings back a less than joyful memory of when they did a similar thing. Most people who are avid about collecting anything, have done such at one time or another, except maybe when it comes to baseball cards fifty years ago. The best way to learn is from experience, and this applies to both recognizing quality, and determining what is an appropriate amount to pay. If you can afford it, and learn from the transaction, what the he__. A far greater sin if you had spent your money on junk.
