Subject: [CR]BVVW Meeting Thursday, February 10

ATTENTION ALL LIST MEMBERS!!!!!!!!:

With the impending heat wave this weekend and temps in the mid 40's, what better time for the next monthly meeting of the Brooklyn Velodrome Vintage Wheelmen? This will be an informal gathering of all N.Y. metro area and visiting out of town cyclists who share an interest in vintage bicycles and cycling history. The BVVW is a tangent of Gruppo Sportivo Pergolizzi. The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 10th, 2004. Through the generosity of member Greg Arnold we will meet at his home 812-Park Avenue (75th Street), N.Y., N.Y. Just let the doorman know your there to see Greg. Absolutely NO BICYCLES will be allowed in the building for this event. We will talk the old talk (1930 to 1980) of cycling, our heroes, and their bicycles. The BVVW group, comprised of about 20 (WOW!) hardcore certified freaks, will hangout at Greg's house and talk bikes for about 2 hours. Last meeting 14 showed with 5 regulars absent! Subject for the evenings event will be a rare film of the 1951 cycling season on The Continent and another short very rare film on Eddy Merckx. These will run about an hour in total. Thank you Eddie Albert for arraigning for the loan of these films. ALSO: the featured cycle marquee will be POGLIAGHI! The creations of Sante Pogliaghi, and the subsequent owners of the brand, will be shown and discussed . Non other the Greg Arnold will be making the presentation with his own 1969 bike featured. Please bring ANY Pogliaghi stuff you have lying around. And bring your own popcorn. Meet at 5:30 p.m. for a 6:00 o'clock start. At around 8:00p.m. the group will make it's way to dinner. Tentatively, the restaurant will be Tony's Di Napoli Located at 1606-2ed Avenue at 83rd Street, #1-212-861-8686. This is a family style Italian joint. Big portions and LOUD. Just right for The BVVW. If it's only Nino, Bill, Mike, Greg and Me, we'll be there and get really full! Please make every effort to come, as we will have more FUN then we used to. Expect to get home sometime early Friday morning. Bosco Gong, Joel Dressner, , C.J. Scheiner, Greg Goode, Leland Vall, Roy H. Drinkwater, Jeremy Lieberman, , Anthony Mezzatesta, and any other yet unattended CR members from the vicinity, youse guy's are invited too .
