Subject: [CR]back to integrated headset quesiton, again

Approximately a week ago, I asked a question about the fit of races after insertion into the top and bottom of the headtube. The general consensus of advice and information was that the races were a loose fit, or at least not of the pressed fit variety. I put the appropriate races in, put 1/8 ball bearings in, got the frame and fork lined up, and realized that as it is set up, there are not enough threads for me to tighten the adjustable cup and put a locknut on it.

As I see it, and I admit to not seeing things well, there are several solutions: smaller bearings, the races on either ends of the headtube are to be inserted deeper (this would require force beyond hand-force), a different adjustable cup that grabs sooner (or requires less threads to pass through before beginning to thread), or heaven forfend, it's the wrong size fork (this is a 1950's Ephgrave path racer).

I would appreciate any and all suggestions on this.

Thank you.
