Jack,

Glad to hear that you weren't injured, and I hope the Motobecane didn't suffer any damage. I have used Sedis chains for years, and have never had one break, despite criteriums, century rides, and even years of use (but with proper maintenance). Sounds like you got a great bike for $25, but I would never ride a newly purchased older bike without repacking bearings, replacing cables, and replacing the old chain with a new one.
