I had a sideline modifying DuoPars, and the most popular mod was machining off the cones for the ball bearing pulleys and installing Bullseyes. Probably worked on 200 of them, more steel than Ti, and I never saw one that had sleeve pulleys.

BTW the other mods were; New cable anchors to make cable travel compatible with SunTour BarCons. Extending the inner cage so that backpedalling when not exactly in gear wouldn't snag the chain in the cage. I even sold some of these to Lon Haldeman for his tandem. Adding a 2nd idler wheel, and a new spring anchor point, to increase chain wrap capacity. http://bikesmithdesign.com/temp/DuoParMods.jpg

A Ti model with all the modifications was about $125 and I couldn't believe that anyone would spend that much on a derailleur, but I sold 4 of them.

The DuoPar was the only rear mech that would give good clean shifts every time with a 14-34 5 speed freewheel.
