Evening All, 1939 Claud Butler sales brochure shows this end as C.B. Continental Ends on page one. It says " A light, but intensely practical and rigid Continental type solid steel rear end providing instantaneous location of the rear wheel by rolling the spindle into position behind the prongs. A C.B. design that supersedes all others by reason of its great strength, neat appearance and practicability. Continental appeal with "C.B." efficiency and reliability". Oh no there not in the p----g freezing rain! Models actually refered to in the brochure with this "new continental end" are: Mass-start Model, Tour D'Angleterre and Continental Classique. There are a few other models mentioned fitted with continental ends but these are the only three with "THE NEW CONTINENTAL ENDS".
