As Mr. Froke states, "It is a private decision to make."

If someone spent the time, money and effort hunting down a bicycle, he/she can do whatever the heck he/she wants with it. If you are shocked and appalled by the owner's choices regarding preservation/utilization/bastardization of the bicycle, make him/her an offer he/she cannot refuse. Once you buy the bike, you'll be able to do what YOU want with it. Until then, live and let live.

I'm sure many would be dismayed by the resto-mods I perform on my bikes. So be it. I'm glad most people have a sense of humor about it.

Yours,
