I somehow doubt it, since a titanium track axle might actually have worked and they would have had no reason to discontinue it had they made it in the first place.

The Super Record hubs were originally designed and made with titanium axles but they were eliminated very, very early in the production of the hubs. I imagine that there are some early Super Record hubs out there (a Record hub with a ti axle) but I don't think they were sold that way (all guesses on my part).

I do know for a fact that years ago Euro-Asia Imports, an early importer of Campagnolo, had actual Campagnolo titanium axles for sale (long gone now). Note that OMAS supplied Campagnolo with the ti Super Record parts. Also within the last five or ten years there were Campagnolo compatible ti axles being made by a couple of companies (SRP for example).

There were also some aluminum axles made in Italy back in the 1970s for Campagnolo hubs. Of course the rears didn't last in use at all, but the front ones worked okay.

Anyone else have more info?
