One I haven't seen mentioned yet:

"Avocation"

1. An activity taken up in addition to one's regular work or profession, usually for enjoyment; a hobby;

2. One's regular work or profession;

3. (Archaic) A diversion or distraction.

[ Latin, avocatio, avocation-diversion, from avocatus, past participle of avocare, to call away, from ab+ vocare--to call, from voc-,vox, voice.

Covers all the bases, eh?

Larry Hakim diverted and distracted, not to mention both called and called away in Oxford, MS
