Got you beat Jack! I've been a designer for over 40 years. But that's not the point of course. Your "new hand held spectrometer (computer)" is of no value for this discussion. The idealized color is what we are after Mr. Gabus, not a Pantone color matched to a specific bike (faded, not faded, etc.). A Pantone color to match what people _think_ Alex SiNGER Bleu Foncé looks like.

And a lesson: You are incorrect when you state, "Pantone (true pantone) color only come in a Numbered specification period. No names for colors." There are more than a few Pantone colors that do have names without numbers and also some that have names along with numbers.
