The time has come to pass this bike on to a new caretaker. Baines Whirlwinds, aka Flying Gates, are the height of unorthodox frame design and are quite rare, much less common than Hetchins, Bates or other unorthodox bikes. This bike is not one of Trevor Jarvis' modern reproductions, but an authentic 1947 Baines Whirlwind International TT. It was restored to a very high standard in 1999, repainted to its original flamboyant purple color. Since new it's had 4 owners. This is definitely not the bike to ride if you want to blend in. It has no issues whatsoever; no scratches, dings, dents. Components are period correct.

The specifics: 24"c-t seat tube, 23" c-c top tube. Chater Lea crankset Brooks oval logo B17 with Birmalux seatpost CLB Competition brakeset, with braided cotton cable housing Harden hubs on Conloy rims with bronze wingnuts Phosfor bronze stem (period correct and exceptionally rare)

$2500 +shipping via FedEx. International buyers, shipping at your financial peril.
