Back in the old days at Moots, the fillet brazed models were more difficult to build than the lugged frames. Perhaps our crack brazing staff were not as expert at fillet brazing as they were at brazing into lugs. In any case, as the apprentice, I spent A LOT more time cleaning up brass on the fillet brazed frames.

Then again, when I knew John Cutter in San Luis Obispo, he fillet-brazed everything. He was very meticulous in his finishing, but I'm sure he did not leave as much brass around after brazing as we did at Moots.
