Subject: [CR]French Crank Ranking

I realize that different models and/or permutations make a world of difference, but in spite of this and in general, can one place a desirability (subjective) or value (objective) ranking of relatively common models of french cranks such as Stronglight, T-A, and Nervar? As you may guess from how I posed the question, I have subjectively developed such a ranking but am unsure of the results. Has anyone compiled an objective list based on ebay sale prices?

The reason I ask is because of my current preoccupation with french bikes and components. I'm wondering if I'm really "improving" things if I swap cranks between bikes? Although swapping parts runs counter to my personal philosophy to keep vintage bikes original, the urge to tinker is overwhelming. You know the drill, this frame, that crank, those wheels...you build your dream but in your heart you know its a Frankenstein. And the garage!...littered with dismembered corpses that used to be nice examples of relatively original vintage bikes, ironically, what we were looking for in the first place!
